Hey There
Life is full of so much beauty; but it's also filled with challenges, stressors, and sometimes traumas. It's easy to become stagnant when faced with the difficult times. For me, when I'm stuck, I always choose to put one foot in front of the other, almost robotically at first, and eventually my mind follows. The natural endorphins that physical activity produce, helps me to get back on track and out of complacency. My motivation and overall mood improves.
It's been a long journey; but I've found my purpose and passion in fitness- And since I've always loved to help people, it just made sense to connect the two. Now I can share what my own self-love and self-healing look like, and how I continue to grow with functional fitness.

All About Me
The word "junkie" alone holds a particular negative connotation within it. So I wanted to change that implication into something more empowering. With that same thought process- my goal is to help guide the way we view ourselves. Through fitness and training- I can help build that positive lens to see yourself through.

I've always enjoyed sports and being physically active. In addition, I have always had a passion for helping people. So combining these two things, just made sense. Like many others in the world, I've dealt with many tragedies in my life. More recently, my brother passed away from a rare cancer known as Leiomyosarcoma IVC. He was a missionary in Korea, and spent most of his adult life helping others. His diagnosis reminded me just how precious time is, and that no one is guaranteed tomorrow.
The cancer took him in just a little over a year. This was the first time I walked with pain and grief without some type of self-destructive behavior. I started running. I would run for miles and remember him, and grieve him. I had to keep moving- one foot in front of the other. With the feeling of the world moving around me, and being so disconnected from it. But- I ran anyway.

I also stepped up my fitness routine, and I realized my body was much more powerful than I knew. I could climbs ropes, lift weights, and just kept breaking "barriers" of things I never thought I could ever do. All this to say, that unfortunately suffering and pain is part of the human condition; but resiliency and the ability to bounce back is too, and that resiliency can be so powerful. I have found that physical fitness can give us our strength back, and not just in the literal sense. It's a process, but whatever your why is, you will regain strength and look and feel better. My hope is to use my extensive knowledge and experience to help others and meet them wherever they are in their journey.
